I am a writer, emcee and musician, currently based in Glasgow, Scotland.

///FICTION
My as-yet-unpublished crime novel was nominated for the 2012 CWA Debut Dagger Award. My short fiction has been published by Timid Pirate Press and Drey Magazine, and received a special mention in the Boing Boing 'Gadget Fiction' contest of 2009. In 2007, I set up Weaponizer Press, an open-source site publishing edgy, groundbreaking fiction by emerging authors, including my own short stories. In 2011, I edited and published the first issue of Weaponizer Magazine. The title relaunched in 2012 in a new format, including comics, fiction and nonfiction, and an interview with China Miéville. In 2011, I was invited to join literary performance collective Writer's Bloc. In 2012 I completed a Masters degree in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow.

///MUSIC & PERFORMANCE
Under the name Texture, I make loop-based hip-hop with dubstep, electro, and lo-fi influences. Between 2009 and 2011 I recorded the Neuroleptica Trilogy of EPs, featuring collaborations with Morphamish, Asthmatic Astronaut, dustmotes, Monkeytribe, Krowne and Harlequinade, among others. The EPs were remastered and re-released in 2012. In 2007, I released Future Proof with long-term collaborator Morphamish, under the name Double Helix. I have performed poetry across Scotland as a solo performer and as part of Chemical Poets. In 2010, the Chemical Poets took our show Twenty Tentacle to the Edinburgh Fringe. I returned the following year with a solo show, 'Neuromonster.'

In 2009, I  helped set up the netlabel Black Lantern Music, releasing music by more than thirty artists from Scotland and worldwide. In 2011 I released the self-produced album Sigil Kids on Aural Sects, following it up in 2012 with Sigil Kids II - Thrown Room. I regularly perform live, and have played the Kelburn Music Festival's Viewpoint Sessions, the Wickerman Festival and at gigs throughout the UK. In 2011, I recorded a live session for the BBC Radio 1 Introducing.... New Music: Scotland show.

"Likeably spiky."
- The Scotsman

“One of the most inventive pieces of British hip-hop that I've heard in a long long time.”
- Mary Ann Hobbes, Radio 1 Experimental (re. track 'Complacency' by Double Helix)

"Ginsberg's famous line 'whole intellects disgorged in total recall' springs to mind when you hear these literary outsiders in full flow ...you quickly find yourself absorbed in the collision of reflexive word-play and information-age angst, drawn in by their complex verbal rhythms and emphatic chants. Channelling the fractured energy of 'Generation Y'... exceptionally inventive."
- Three Weeks [re. Chemical Poets Fringe show Twenty Tentacle -  * * * *]

"Brilliant."
- The Book Cafe, Radio Scotland (re. Chemical Poets)

"Tortuously deep flows."
- The Creative Uncommons

"A dark urban feel combining aspects of hip-hop, dubstep and post-modern electronica... Foreboding but hypnotically attractive... A good bet for the nihilists in the crowd."
- Free Albums Galore
